Isometric Drawing

Ms Pocari has given us a math task, again! This time, we had to use a tool called "Isometric Drawing Tool". It is a tool that helps you make 3D shapes more easily. https://illuminations.nctm.org/activity.aspx?id=4182 Now, I will show you my 3D shapes!

My Problem/Solution Report

Ms. Porcari has again given our class a new task; this time a task I have never done before. She told the class to write a problem/solution report and I will show you my problem/solution report so you can see the structure of it and so you know what a problem/solution report is.

Bullies, bullies, bullies, they have to stop, but that doesn't give victims the right to kill them! Kids and teens should not be able to obtain weapons, even if they can be trusted. During 2013, the rate of intentional deaths involving weapons was 8 per 100,000 15- to 19- year olds. This year, there’s already been more than 450 deaths in the USA! Doesn't matter the situation, no weapons for kids - young adults.

My begining solution is that there shall be no weapon shops.  All weapons shall be sold in the gouvernement other than knives. Knives will be unmovable by hand from their block and if you are buying a knife block, a police officer must accompany the cashier. You must have a weapons license to buy knives, even if you are an adult, but if you are accompanied by someone older than 22-24, you can buy knives. Also, there will be no way to sell weapons on selling sites like Amazon. There shall be no weapons on any selling sites, and if the company tries, both the company and/or the buyer will get fined/jailed/shutdown, depending how deadly the product is, if the product is banned in their country, and/or if anyone buys the product. Not even a partly full knife block will be sold on sites like Amazon.

My last solution is that You must have a weapons license. The Canadian government has put the legal age for a weapons for 18, but I think that the legal age for a weapon should be 22-24 because they are older and they are probably out of school. The reason why you need to be out of school is because I’m trying to limit the amount of deaths by teens and most teens are in school. Though teens are not teens when they are 18, they still have a teenish function. If you disobey this law, you will be in jail from 9 - 124 months (roughly 10 years). Also, in the article “Licensing,”  and “Firearm Users Younger than 18,” they say that teens from 12 - 17  can own a rifle, a rifle! Their own rifle given strait to them by gouvernement. Not their parents rifle, THEIR rifle! That I find dangerous. I can understand if it's for hunting, but not for shooting competitions! Yes, they give tens guns for shooting competitions! They should scrap all that and not let average teens get weapons in any way!

Teens think they know everything, but hey don’t. Just because you can be trusted or someone is being so mean, they shouldn't be able to obtain weapons. No matter what grades they may have, or their record, kids and teens should not be able to obtain weapons in any way (Except if they are knives  and they are in use of cooking).

Sojourner Truth: A sojourner who speaks the truth.

Here is my black history recount writing:

USA, 1797-1817
As I start work being a slave, the next second my brother is gone! Is he okay? Is he hurt? No, he was traded! Next thing I know is that I’m on a podium and someone buys me… uh oh!
Isabella “Belle” Baumfree

New York, 1826
I CAN’T believe that John Dumont or should I say Suemont (cause I want to sue him) said I have to stay one extra year! He evened promised! Now that I think about it, I should of pinkie promised so if he broke the promise, I could chop his pinkie off! Well I’m leaving! I’m escaping this place, and no one can stop me!
Isabella  “Belle” Baumfree

New York City, June 1st, 1843
I head down to the ferry, thinking about what God told me, “Go east”. People thought I was crazy. Anyways, I ran into this lady who asked me “What's your name?” I wanted to start a new life, a new beginning. I didn’t like my slave name, so I called myself Sojourner. Then she asked me  my second name. I thought and thought. Then I thought of Truth, so I said Truth, Sojourner Truth. Then I got on the ferry and went east thinking “A new life awaits me!”
Sojourner Truth

Akron, Ohio, 1851
Wow! I got to speak at the convention. Well it’s time to say it all:
I have plowed and planted and gathered into barns and no man could hear me- and ain’t I a woman? I could  work as much and eats as much as much as a man and bear the leash as well- and ain’t I a woman? I have borne children and seen all sold into slavery and when I cried out a mother's grief, none but Jesus heard me- and ain’t I a woman? I felt nervous when I saw no one cheering or clapping, but then all of a sudden everyone started clapping and cheering loudly. I’m glad I did the speech.
Sojourner Truth

November 26, Michigan 1883
Today is my death day, doctor said so, so I might as well go. Been nice to see this beautiful world. I don’t want you to remember me as “that slave who escaped”. I don’t want you to remember me as the best person on earth. This will probably be my last journal entry. Whoever finds my journal, please cherish it and pray, pray, pray always. I want you to remember me as Sojourner truth: A sojourner who speaks the truth. And a brilliant life lesson that helped me throughout my life is:
It’s worth a try!
Sojourner Truth

Sojourner Truth was a slave since birth. She has been sold to many places and mistreated a lot. Then the government made a law so all slaves born before 1800 shall be free by 1827. Her owner said she could leave a year before but then she hurt herself and had to stay an extra year. She was so mad she escaped! Then in 1843, a lady asked for her name. Her slave name was Isabella Baumfree, but she didn't like that name, so she called herself Sojourner Truth. Then she did her "Ain't I a woman?!" speech. Then she tried a project called "Twenty acres and a Mule," but it didn't work, But in the end, she somewhat got what she wanted, And that's the story of Sojourner Truth: a sojourner who speaks the truth.

Math Word Wall Words: Season 1 Post 3: Height

My teacher Ms. Porcari has given me another word wall word; this time on linear measurement. My word was height. Height is the upwards length, measuring between the lowest and highest points.

Math Word Wall Words: Season 1, Post 2. Probability.

My teacher (Ms Porcari), has given the class another word wall word, only this time its about probability. My word was " Theoretical Probability."

Theoretical Probability is the likelihood of an outcome based on mathematical ideas rather than experiments.

My opinion about a law in Ottawa, Ontario.

Ms. Porcari told the class to write an introductory paragraph and a paragraph with one reason. These are my paragraphs:

"Open up! How old are you?" "I-I 11, I'm 11, my birthday is tomorrow, so I'm basically 12." "Not good enough, you are under arrest!" OK government, that's enough! He is basically 12,in fact, kids should be able to stay home alone or with someone younger than them by the age of 10.  To start off, kids are fully capable to take care of themselves when they are in 4th or 5th grade. Additionally, leaving kids home at the age of ten gives moms and dads more flexibility. Last of all, it helps kids gain responsibility. Without a doubt, kids should be able to be left home at age 10.

I think kids should be able to stay home at the age of ten because it helps kids gain responsibility. When I was maybe 9 or 10, I would never want to follow my mom and dad to parties or memorials. Sometimes I got to stay home (I'm the oldest in my family), and sometimes I had to go with them. When I stayed home, the feeling of staying home and being in charged of my younger sister made me feel responsible, but when I had to go with them, I felt irresponsible because when I was younger, I felt that they treated me like a baby or a wild dog when I had to go with them, and the weird part is that it even happens with older kids! Without question, kids should be able to stay home at the age of 10.

My 2D geometry word wall word: Season 1, Post 1: Perpendicular.

For every math unit, Ms Porcari has given us a "word wall word". She gives the class their own word  to describe, get an image, and a QR code. My word was perpendicular. Being perpendicular  is when two lines cross each other and form a right angle or a 90 degree angle.
For example: if I have line A and line B and they cross and make a right angle, that is called being perpendicular.
